Fun Day in Shattuck

Area Recognition Day (AKA Fun Day) for the second quarter of 2014 was held in Shattuck. Although it was quite a westward trek for most chapters, there was a great turn out and a great time was had by all. This Fun Day had a Hawaiian theme, and we saw many grass skirts, and a lot of coconutty people!

Several chapter members were recognized for their accomplishments, including Patty for most weight lost and Betty K., our newest KOPS. Way to go! We’re proud of you.

Also, chapter officers were installed at Fun Day. Outgoing officers were recognized for their hard work and dedication, and incoming officers were given their charge for the next year.

Biltmore Hotel, OKC

Arrr Me Hearties! Come One, Come All
Sate Recognition Days (SRD) will be in the Biltmore Hotel May 22-24, 2014. Rooms are $69 per night. The hotel has two floors, and although there are no elevators in the hotel, there are many rooms on the ground floor for those who need one. Just request a ground floor room when you make your reservation and again upon check-in.

Shiver Me Timbers! So Much to Do
There will be activities galore at SRD, but Patty says that there is only one mandated activity: to have fun. Our pirate cruise will begin at 6:00 PM on the 22nd. Then, aqua zumba in the pool until 7:00 and a share session at 8:00. Activities continue throughout the meeting, and there will be several costume and decorating contests, including the following:

• Chapter pirate flags
• Decorated name tags
• Chapter pirate ships
• Doorway to Capt. Jack Sparrow’s cabin (decorated doors)
• Dress alike chapter costumes

There will be a place designated for men–the “man cave,” and baskets. We will need to bring our own container and tickets. Finally, we will be able to spend our pirate coins on some as yet unannounced loot.

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of…Diet Coke?
One thing is for sure: we will have a blimey good time. Many will be able to catch up with those they know, and everyone will be able to meet new people. Start getting the creative juices flowing and let’s think up some great costumes and decorations. We want to put our best peg leg forward!

I heard that I missed a lot of good food and good fun at our TOPS Christmas party.

I was so glad to see that Jennifer and her husband were able to come. Jennifer, we will miss you, and we wish you the best in your move and new endeavors. Keep in touch and if you’re in Stillwater, come see us. You know where you can find us!

Rockin’ It Out at Fun Day

TOPS OK 0013 chapter members at Fun Day.

Seven Stillwater OK 0013 members attended the 3rd quarter 2013 Fun Day in Enid. A good time was had by all who went:  Tammy, Jessie, Norma, Wilma, Bert, Jana, and Maxi. As with all Fun Days, there was a theme, and the theme this time was “Rock Star.” For any who haven’t been to a Fun Day, three things are of the utmost importance: 1) Meet someone new, 2) Be encouraging, and 3) Have fun. I think I all and all our chapter members who attended were able to complete these requirements successfully.

Rock On!

Thanks to our hosts in Enid for great time, good food, and a lot of encouragement and motivation.

Let’s show our area that we can party like a rock star!

Our next Fun Day is Nov. 2, 2013 in Enid, and the theme is “Rock Star.” I’ve been thinking of costume ideas, and here are some of mine. Feel free to add to the list with your favorite ideas.

• Cyndi Lauper: Net skirt, leggings, bright jacket, and 80’s hair. Girls just wanna have fun, right?
• Kiss: need I say more?
• A necklace with a rock bauble and a star applied to it
• Elvis: young or the later years
• Grunge
• Gangsta Rap
